Creationism in the UK

Creationism is, thankfully, not as big an issue in the UK as it is in the States.

But we shouldn't get complacent. As the BHA have recently posted:

Creationist groups are continuing to push for Free Schools

Free Schools don't have to teach the National Curriculum, and there are groups that are trying to set up schools, such that they can teach their anti-science dogma in science lessons.

Please sign this e-petition "Teach evolution, not creationism"

This has always been an important issue for me, but more so as I embark on a career in science education.

I'm not dead yet!

Just resting!

(Two Python references for the price of one).

I've started a PGCE, which for those that don't know is a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. It's the qualification I need to be a sciecne teacher. Alas, it's incredibaly work heavy, and I've justh ad no time for this blog.

On top of that, before this blog, I wanted to write about a few things, but then spent my time keeping on top of various other things, like the revelations of Johann Hari's plagarism and elevator gate and I didn't have the time to write anything. I do miss the blog, and will blog again, but no idea when.

Given it's been so many month's I really don't know if I have any regular readers any more, but if any of you do occasionally pop back to see what became of me, well, now you know.

I daresay when I come back there will be considerably more posts about science and education...
